Currelec LED Savings Calculator

Use this LED savings calculator to estimate what you could save by replacing your existing incandescent bulbs with NEW LED bulbs

Many manufacturers quote various LED output figures as being ‘equivalent’ to certain incandescent bulb wattages. You’ll see terms like ‘Lumens’, ‘Lux’ and ‘effective Lumens’ mentioned.

This can be confusing as it is hard to compare without seeing the bulbs lit and should only be taken as a loose comparison. LED bulbs tend to generate much less heat, which is useful as this heat is wasted energy. Also, LEDs tend to have a lifespan often more than 10x longer than incandescent bulbs.

LED bulbs are available in various colour ‘temperatures’ which generally fall into ‘warm white’ (similar to incandescent bulbs) and ‘cool white’ which has a hint of blue, a bit more like traditional flourescent lamps. You’ll even see ‘daylight’, which is about halfway between the two.

Quite often the ‘even spread’ of light from good quality LED bulbs creates a pleasant ambiance which is easier to live with than the harsh ‘spot light’ nature of say, an incandescent downlighter bulb.

If in doubt, try to see the bulb lit before you choose, to see if it is right for you. Or Contact Currelec for advice
