Our new LED savings calculator is now online and free to use! LED lighting is finally catching up with our expectations and we’ve been carrying out an increasing number of conversions for our customers. Halogen downlight bulbs have long been guilty of consuming lots of electricity, going through bulbs like mad and overheating (which is wasted energy too)! A typical 5Watt LED downlight bulb, replacing a 50Watt halogen bulb, used for 6 hours a day, could save you over £37 after 3 years! And that’s just ONE bulb! Take a look at our LED Savings Calculator to estimate your savings!

There’s nothing like a refreshing shower in the lovely hot weather we’re having. So here’s some important trivia for you!

Did you know, that any room with a Bath or Shower is divided into “Zones” for the purposes of Electrical Safety?
Any light fitting, switch, shaver unit, fan or device MUST be approved for use in the Zone in which it’s going to be used.
Zone 0 is inside the bath or shower itself.
Zone 1 is directly over the bath or shower up to 2.25m high.
Zone 2 is a 60cm area further outside of Zone 1
Take a look around your bathroom and make sure you’re happy about your electrics. If not, get a Part P Approved Electrician to check it out.
Also remember, if you have a shower cubicle in a bedroom, you can’t have a 13amp socket within 3 meters of it. Keep Safe and if you need any advice call us on 01772 615428 or email us

Zone information from Currelec

Currelec has just completed an LED downlight conversion at a beautiful apartment. All the old halogen downlights were causing problems with either overheating or bulb failures, so it was time for a change.
Our brief was to provide a dimmable solution, which had different colour temperatures (tints) for the Kitchen and the Dining areas, which require very different coloured lighting to create just the “right” ambience. The new LED units we installed are an inexpensive and sensible choice for the client who now has great quality light, no more bulb changes, and has reduced her electricity consumption by 90%!!! All in all, a complete success and a happy Client!
